Ezgi “Ziggy” Ertan is a certified sommelier and a wine lover. She was born in Ankara, Turkey. Having always wanted to study college abroad, she moved to the United States when she was 18 to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of Chicago. Upon graduating, she started her career in finance at Goldman Sachs and continues to enjoy her full-time job at JP Morgan in financial derivatives.

Ezgi first become interested in studying wine after a few trips to different wine regions in 2013. She took her first wine class in 2015 at the American Sommelier Association. Nearly two years later, she became a certified sommelier after passing the Blind Tasting exam. In addition to writing on her blog, Ezgi does corporate wine events. Her clients include JP Morgan Asset Management, LPL Financial, Ameriprise Financial, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Lazard, Barclays, DVLeap, Royal Bank of Canada, Fidelity, One River Asset Management, Citibank and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Ezgi is also an avid skier and a mountain lover.
